Movie screening : La syndicaliste

The film LA SYNDICALISTE tells the true story of Maureen Kearney, a CFDT delegate at Areva, who in 2012 became a whistleblower to expose a state secret that shook the French nuclear industry. Supported by her union, she fought tooth and nail against dark and powerful players to denounce technology transfers to China, to bring the secret agreement to light and defend more than 50,000 jobs until the day she was violently attacked and saw her life turned upside down...

The movie will be screened on 31st May 2023 in the VMA Building (room VMA 3), Rue Van Maerlant 2, 1000 Bruxelles. Maureen Kearney and the film's producer Jean-Paul Salomé will be present for the screening, as well as several MEPs and representatives of the ETUC and ETUFs.

The event will start at 18.00 with a welcome reception and brief introductory statements by Worker's Group President Lucie Studničná, ETUC Deputy General Secretary Isabelle Schömann, EESC member and CFDT representative Franca Salis-Madinier, MEPs Dennis Radtke and Agnes Jongerius, Maureen Kearney and Jean-Paul Salomé. The film screening will take place from 18.45 – 21.00.
