Bartek Lessaer, Socio-Economic Analyst DG EMPL, EC

Bartek Lessaer has been a socio-economic analyst with Commission's DG Employment since 2007, specialising in sustainable development as well as in the measurement of quality of life, well-being and socio-economic progress. He coordinated the Social Climate survey and small area estimations of poverty, a joint project with the World Bank and DG REGIO. He graduated from sociology at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. He also studied European integration at the Exeter University, UK and social sciences at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. Before, joining the European Commission, Bartek was a research assistant at the Centre for Comparative Studies of Civilisations of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, specialising in ethnic and religious minorities of the Middle East.
