On 15 November the EESC will host a pivotal event focusing on the benefits of organic food and the critical role of public procurement in advancing sustainable practices. This event will bring together representatives from cities, national governments, and institutions to discuss the future of organic farming and its impact on farmers, workers, the climate, and the environment.
Bien que plusieurs actions aient été entreprises au niveau de l’UE en faveur de l’égalité entre les femmes et les hommes, les inégalités persistent, les femmes roms étant confrontées à des défis supplémentaires en raison de la pauvreté et de l’exclusion sociale. L’audition discutera des mesures qui pourraient aider à autonomiser les femmes roms et comment leur participation à l’emploi, qui est encore très faible, peut être renforcée. Elle abordera la question des mariages précoces, de la mesure dans laquelle ce phénomène est encore prédominant au sein de la communauté rom et examinera les mesures permettant de le réduire.
In the context of the European Gender Equality Week, the European Economic and Social Committee is organising a thematic debate during the meeting of its Section for Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment (NAT) on 13 November 2024 (14:30 - 16:00 CET), focusing on the disproportionate impact of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss on women and girls, and the critical role they play in advocating for solutions.

Green and low-carbon hydrogen are crucial components in our energy transition. Recent initiatives, such as the EU Hydrogen Bank, highlight the momentum in developing sustainable hydrogen markets.
The seventh meeting of the EU Domestic Advisory Group was held on 11 November 2024. During the meeting, the EU DAG received an update from the European Commission's DG TRADE on the implementation of the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, as well as information on the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement. The EU DAG members also exchanged views on EU-Singapore relations and recent developments in Singapore with Ambassador Lim, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Singapore to the European Union. An important feature of the meeting was the presentation on the labour rights situation in Singapore given by the ILO representative. One of the objectives of the meeting was to prepare the European side for the upcoming joint meeting with the Singapore DAG.
The EESC´s Consultative Commission on Industrial Change (CCMI) is organising a hearing on the future of EU Resource and Energy-Intensive (REII) Industry, with the participation of many civil society stakeholders.

La cinquième conférence annuelle du groupe DFED du CESE proposera une plate-forme de débat sur le cinquième rapport de la CE sur l'état de droit et le rapport final du premier cycle de visites de tous les États membres de l'UE effectué par le Groupe DEFD en 2018-2023 (ainsi que le rapport sur les visites 2023-2024).
