Conference "Offshore Power for E-Fuels: Boosting the New Hydrogen Economy"
Green and low-carbon hydrogen are crucial components in our energy transition. Recent initiatives, such as the EU Hydrogen Bank, highlight the momentum in developing sustainable hydrogen markets. In this conference, co-organised by the EESC, the Netherlands Embassy in Estonia, Pärnu County Development Centre, Applied Research Center Metrosert, Invest Estonia and e-methanol plant developer Power2X, we will discuss hydrogen infrastructure development, financing and usage.
The aim of the event is to discuss and identify strategic actions for the development of a sustainable infrastructure for hydrogen and its derivatives. Emphasis will be placed on the crucial role of EU and national policy makers on fostering collaboration among Member States for effective strategies, and on facilitating the exchange of best practices for the proliferation of hydrogen capacity. This approach will ensure that the future EU hydrogen sector meets environmental and social standards while being financially viable.
The conference will examine the significance of sustainable hydrogen, especially for the decarbonisation of the hard-to-abate-industry and transport sector and integrating hydrogen into the local economy. It will highlight how e-fuels, produced from renewable sources, can replace traditional fossil fuels and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, especially in long-distance freight, marine and air transport.
This event, will take place at the ESTONIA Resort Hotel & Spa, in A. H. Tammsaare pst. 4a/6, 80010 Pärnu.
The event is co-funded by the European Union measure "MAK 2 – Developing SME Skills in Regional Development Centers.
