Pour marquer le cinquième anniversaire de l'accord de Paris, le Comité économique et social européen (CESE) et l'Institut allemand de développement / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) organisent un événement en ligne réunissant les institutions de l'UE, le groupe du Royaume-Uni sur la COP 26, les «champions de la cause climatique» à haut niveaut et les principaux acteurs du climat pour discuter des opportunités de renforcer l'engagement et l'action climatique.
Le 26.11.2020, le CESE organisera une audition virtuelle au sujet du nouveau pacte sur la migration et l’asile. Objectif: mieux comprendre les piliers du pacte et en évaluer l’impact sur le cadre européen. Ce sera l’occasion, grâce aux éclairages des acteurs institutionnels concernés, de groupes de réflexion, des partenaires sociaux et des organisations de la société civile, de se pencher sur la capacité du pacte à amener le changement systémique nécessaire pour sortir de l’impasse actuelle et mettre en place dans l’UE une politique viable, rationnelle et fondée sur les droits.

La conférence examinera le rôle de la société civile européenne dans l'utilisation de la numérisation de manière à ce qu'elle permette et favorise la durabilité pour soutenir le "Green Deal" européen et la reprise durable de l'UE.
Le groupe des travailleurs organise une réunion extraordinaire sur les défis auxquels fait face l'Europe actuellement et les priorités du groupe des travailleurs dans ce cadre.
The EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA) envisages that DAG members of each Party will meet together at a Civil Society Forum to conduct a dialogue encompassing sustainable development aspects of trade relations between the Parties. The Civil Society Forum meets once a year unless otherwise agreed by the Parties, with the venue alternating between Brussels and Singapore.
In the 1st EU-Singapore FTA Trade and Sustainable Development (TSD) Public Stakeholders' Forum on 20 November 2020 the focus of the exchange of view will be in the trade-related environment issues, on the one hand, and trade-related labour issues, on the other hand. The Forum envisages also sharing on the discussions that have taken place at the TSD Board meeting on 17 and 18 November.

A DAG-to-DAG is a joint civil society body between the partner countries of a Free Trade Agreement, bringing together the separate DAGs of each party. This is the 1st joint meeting of the EU and Singapore DAGs under the EU-Singapore FTA.
The DAG-to-DAG meetings allow for civil society organisations which are involved on a regular basis in their respective domestic monitoring exercises to come together and exchange views on implementation issues. In the 1st meeting DAG-to-DAG under the EU-Singapore FTA on 19 November 2020, the members will most importantly get to know each other but also exchange views on the work programme in the first mandate and consider possible topics for future work.
Implementation of the TSD Chapter within the EU-Singapore FTA and the contribution by the economic, social and environmental civil society actors to its monitoring

In this first workshop that gathers together the members of the EU DAG and Singapore DAG the focus will be on the consultation of civil society in the context of policy and legislation development and implementation, including in the context of trade policy, trade agreements and Trade and Sustainable Development chapters.
The workshop will be introduced with a presentation by an external speaker and followed by a Q&A-session. The participants will have the possibility to share information on how civil society functions and is consulted in their respective countries. The aim of the discussions is to share experience and build the ground for future cooperation.
