The 16th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform (CSP) took place on 10 December 2024. During the meeting, the CSP members exchanged with the EU and Ukrainian authorities on the progress in the seven steps outlined by the European Commission and on the state of play of the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. The Platform also discussed the state of play of Ukraine Facility, as well as the challenges and prospects for the agricultural sector in Ukraine in the context of EU enlargement.
A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.

Cette année, la Journée européenne du consommateur a eu pour titre «Les défis liés à l’eau: examiner le point de vue des consommateurs — faire progresser le pacte bleu pour l’Europe» et s'est déroulée le 9 décembre au CESE. Elle a couvert, d'une part, la protection des consommateurs en ce qui concerne l'accès à l'eau à un prix abordable, y compris les consommateurs vulnérables, en abordant également les aspects de la qualité et de la quantité de l'eau. D'autre part, il a été question d'une consommation économe en eau, en mettant l'accent sur l'évolution des habitudes de consommation afin de rendre la consommation d'eau plus durable, en utilisant des outils et des technologies innovants.

The third edition of the EESC Civil Society Forum on Trade and Sustainable Development (TSD) will take place on Thursday, 5 December, from 14:00 to 17:30 at the EESC premises in Brussels. Under the theme "New mandate, new challenge: reaffirming TSD amid economic security ambitions," this year's Forum will focus on ensuring that the EU's economic security agenda is consistent with and delivers for TSD. As we welcome a new EU Commission, this is the moment to influence policy direction and ensure that trade policy fosters resilience and security alongside long-term development and social justice for all partners.

The EU-Serbia Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) held its 18th meeting on 29 November 2024 at the EESC in Belgrade, Serbia. It is a platform established within the institutional framework of the EU‑Serbia Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), enabling representatives of both the EU and the Serbian civil society to monitor the country's accession negotiations, discuss issues of common interest and point out concerns to be tackled on the Serbian path towards the European Union.
