This is the 4th Joint Meeting of the Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs) under the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). This year it is organised virtually by the Canadian counterparts. At the meeting, both the Canadian and EU DAGs will be reporting on their respective activities since the last meeting. Updates will cover from the Canadian side the implementation of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) and first cases and participants will hear from the EU side the latest on the consultation process in the EU on the review of the TSD chapters of CETA.
A debate will be held on the impact of COVID19 pandemic on supply chains from the perspectives of forced labour/sustainable development/labour rights/environment. And members of the DAGs will discuss the key messages to include in their joint statement, to be later presented to the Trade and Sustainable Development Committee meeting.
