The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

O boletim CESE Info terá uma nova rubrica intitulada «Vou votar, venha também!», de dezembro de 2023 a junho de 2024, com os pontos de vista dos nossos convidados sobre o modo e a importância de participar nas eleições europeias. O nosso primeiro convidado é Robert Sermek, chefe do Gabinete de Ligação do Parlamento Europeu na Eslováquia.
Robert Sermek gere uma equipa de sete pessoas e é responsável pela aplicação das estratégias de comunicação do Parlamento a nível nacional e pela divulgação do trabalho do Parlamento Europeu e dos respetivos deputados junto dos cidadãos eslovacos. Trabalha no Parlamento Europeu desde 2007. Foi chefe de projeto para produtos audiovisuais nas campanhas de comunicação à escala da UE para as eleições europeias de 2014 e 2019, bem como coordenador editorial dos serviços audiovisuais do Parlamento. Antes de trabalhar na administração da UE, foi jornalista e correspondente da agência noticiosa eslovaca TASR e, mais tarde, da Rádio Eslovaca em Bruxelas, durante o período crucial das negociações de adesão da Eslováquia à UE e à OTAN.
