Strengthening enforcement of Single Market Rules: revision of current tools and framework
Background
This own-initiative opinion will examine how to improve the enforcement of Single Market rules.
Building on the Letta and Draghi reports, and contributing to the upcoming Single Market Strategy, the opinion will explore concrete measures to remove persistent and emerging barriers.
Key topics include strengthening the Single Market Enforcement Taskforce (SMET), streamlining infringement procedures, preventing regulatory fragmentation (gold-plating), and reinforcing national and EU enforcement capacities.
The opinion will also assess how these efforts align with the Better Regulation agenda to create a more agile and competitive Single Market.
