Child Focus is the  'Belgian Safer Internet Centre', offering:

  1. An awareness-raising centre: initiatives include the "Armadillo" project which has produced a booklet for primary school teachers on prevention of sexual abuse and the campaign against sex tourism and child prostitution: www.stopprostitutionenfantine.be under the umbrella of ECPAT
  2. Hotline: fight against sexual abuse images on the web;
  3. Helpline: for all questions and problems related to the internet

The framework for the organisation's policy on sexuality is the recommandations issued in the wake of the crisis within the Belgian church by the Belgian Parliamentary Special Commission on “The treatment of sexual abuse and acts of paedophilia within a relation of authority, in particular in the Church”.  In cooperation with Sensoa, Child Focus has followed up the recommendations by drawing up a  Code of Conduct for organisations working with children and young people, for which it is the central contact point.
