Solidarity with Irish Trade Unions and Public Sector Workers

We, at the EESC Workers’ Group, express our full solidarity with the Irish trade unions and the hundreds of thousands of public sector workers, taking industrial action to demand fair pay and decent working conditions. We salute the massive participation from all sectors in what is shaping up to be the biggest day of nationwide industrial action since 2008.

We stand firmly with our Irish trade union colleagues in their legitimate demands for meaningful pay negotiations and a fair public service pay agreement. Their struggle is a reminder that solidarity across sectors and borders is essential to defend workers’ rights. 

We fully support your strike and demand for a realistic dialogue with the Government to deliver concrete results for fair wages that guarantee a decent life and keep the pace with inflation. 

Your struggle is our struggle.
