EESC contribution

This year, the EESC has prepared a contribution to the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the first Global Review of Implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) in which it:

• highlights the crucial role of organised civil society in the effective implementation and monitoring of the GBF framework,
• calls for stronger accountability and inclusive governance,
• call for greater policy coherence to ensure that biodiversity objectives are integrated and pursued across all relevant sectors.

More generally, the messages that the EESC will convey at COP17 will build on its recent opinions:

• Roadmap towards Nature credits 
• Healthy planet for healthy people: towards a comprehensive ‘One Health’ approach
