EESC key messages for COP29
The EESC will attend COP29 with the messages from its 2022 resolution which remain fully valid:
- EESC resolution | Jointly tackling an existential threat - social partners and civil society for the implementation of ambitious climate action
An additional EESC contribution is currently in progress:
- EESC opinion | Climate finance: a new roadmap to deliver on high climate ambition and the SDGs (to be adopted on 19 September 2024)
In 2023, the EESC also focused on two specific contributions on implementing climate action on food and agriculture and on the just transition work programme, which had been submitted to the Commission as input to the negotiations:
