2026 European Semester – Autumn Package
Every year, in February, the EESC adopts an opinion linked to the European Semester Autumn Package. The European Semester Autumn Package, marks the beginning of a new cycle of the European Semester. It includes a set of documents that outline the socio-economic landscape, highlight key priorities and risks, and provide policy guidance to support Member States in achieving these objectives.
The EESC opinion on the 2026 European Semester – Autumn Package is planned for adoption at the February 2026 EESC plenary session, in order to provide timely input and recommendations on critical economic, social, and environmental concerns, particularly in light of the ongoing socio-economic and geopolitical challenges affecting growth, competitiveness, and security. This opinion will also allow the EESC to reflect in a comprehensive manner on the current challenges for the European Semester, that has become a solid and well-established instrument for the EU’s economic governance and coordination with Member States and is in the process of being developed further.
