Save the date: European civil society to shape the EU’s contribution to the UN Water Conference
On 15 September, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will bring together civil society organisations, EU institutions and other stakeholders to help shape an ambitious, resilient and inclusive European contribution to the UN Water Conference, taking place on 8 – 10 December 2026.
Organised by the EESC’s Consultative Commission on Industrial Change (CCMI) chaired by president Alain Coheur , the event will present the EESC’s recommendations on the EU Blue Deal and global water action, feed civil society perspectives into the EU’s preparations, and strengthen dialogue between civil society organisations, the EU institutions and the EESC.
Civil society organisations bring essential policy expertise and practical experience across water access, ecosystems, resilience, economic activity, social inclusion, investment and international cooperation.
The programme will include a high-level opening, six parallel thematic sessions and a final plenary.
