CARIFORUM-EU Consultative Committee - 9th meeting

The 9th meeting of the CARIFORUM–EU Consultative Committee brought together civil society representatives from the Caribbean and the European Union to discuss key developments in CARIFORUM–EU relations. The agenda included updates on the implementation of the CARIFORUM–EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), the provisional application of the OACPS–EU Samoa Agreement in relation to CARIFORUM, and discussions on the ongoing revision of the EPA review process.

Participants also exchanged views on the role of the energy transition in strengthening climate resilience in the Caribbean, and its implications for sustainable development and regional cooperation. The meeting concluded with the discussion and adoption of a Joint Statement setting out civil society recommendations on the implementation of the EPA, addressed to the CARIFORUM–EU Joint Council and the CARIFORUM–EU Parliamentary Committee.
