The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Explorar la relación entre la humanidad y la naturaleza a través de la fotografía aérea
El CESE acogerá una exposición de fotografía titulada Habitat, en la que se presentará la obra de Tom Hegen, un fotógrafo y diseñador alemán de Múnich ganador de diversos galardones.
La obra de Tom Hegen, basada en proyectos de fotografía aérea, muestra el impacto de la actividad humana en la tierra y suele poner de manifiesto la relación entre el hombre y la naturaleza. El proyecto Habitat invita al espectador a descubrir nuestro planeta desde una nueva perspectiva, a comprender la escala de la actividad humana en nuestro planeta y, en última instancia, a asumir responsabilidades. Presenta una serie de 31 imágenes, centradas en paisajes que se han visto transformados por la actividad humana.
La exposición, que podrá visitarse en la sede del CESE del 26 de octubre al 30 de noviembre de 2020, se enmarca en la Presidencia alemana del Consejo de la UE. (ck)
