Towards a European strategy for older persons

On 29 November 2023, the EESC held a half-day conference in Madrid, Spain in the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the EU. Its aim was to discuss and present the political avenues for a European strategy for older people, focusing on the economic and demographic potential of active ageing, as well as on the social and human rights aspects.

This report reflects the discussions that took place and presents the main recommendations that emerged from the event.
