European Economic
and Social Committee
Amendment to the InvestEU regulation
Key points
The Committee has already set out its views on the Proposal for a regulation establishing the InvestEU programme[1], adopted on 17 October 2018 and on its revision[2], adopted on 15 July 2020. Given that the proposed amendments to the InvestEU regulation are technical and serve simplification purposes, and considering that the EESC in its previous opinions called for regulatory simplification and supported the Commission in making InvestEU an umbrella financial instrument, it decided to issue an opinion endorsing the proposed text and to refer to the position it had taken in the above-mentioned documents.
