One Europe, One Market: from strategy to delivery

Europe stands at a pivotal moment. Delivering a stronger, fairer, more competitive Single Market requires not just vision — but action. On 3 June 2026, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Parliament (EP) jointly organised a half-day event to bring together EU institutions, civil society stakeholders, and experts to turn strategy into concrete delivery for citizens and businesses.

The first panel looked at the essentials that make the Single Market work: safe products, effective market surveillance, fair e‑commerce, and strong standards. Speakers explored how the EU Products Act and the CPC Regulation can reinforce consumer trust and fair competition.

The second panel approached public procurement as one of Europe’s strongest levers for change. This discussion focused on how procurement can drive sustainability, circularity, and innovation, supporting the green objectives and the goals of the Circular Economy Act.

The third panel turned to examine how the Digital Single Market, simplification, and reduced administrative burdens can strengthen competitiveness and support SMEs. The debate highlighted what is needed to make the Digital Single Market more coherent, accessible, and future‑ready.
