2021-11-23 - The Roma - Mission report from virtual country visit to Slovakia

Despite some progress in Roma participation at the national and local level, discrimination and antigypsysim remain a challenge, and are at the root of the problems faced by the Roma community. More is needed to tackle school segregation and discrimination in employment.  Participants highlighted the role of the media in depicting a negative image of the Roma, pointing at the need to also portray success stories. Online education as a result of the pandemic brought further challenges for the Roma community.  This country visit took place virtually on 23 November.
