The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.
The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.
The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.
Your Europe, Your Say! (YEYS) will take place on Wednesday 6 March 2024 as part of the EESC's Civil Society Week. With the 2024 edition of YEYS taking place in the run up to the European elections, the one day event will seek to inspire its young participants to exercise their democratic right to vote and actively encourage others to do so too.
YEYS 2024 will bring together 18-25 year old first time and other young voters from all EU member states, candidate countries and the UK. Participants will be invited to debate and make recommendations which will contribute to the EESC's pre-election activities as well as offer input to the EESC's resolution on the European elections.

YEYS 2024 promises to be a day of collaboration to address the challenges and issues that matter most to young people. A team of facilitators will guide participants so that each one is actively involved and all ideas are heard. Interactive methods will ensure that the concerns, aspirations and expectations are reflected in the recommendations they will collectively produce. This inclusive and interactive approach reflects the importance of youth input to the work of the EESC.
The opening and closing sessions of YEYS will be web streamed:
