Trade unions and employers: collaborating towards enhanced productivity
The EESC with the opinion on "The role of trade unions in improving productivity" (ECO/666) strongly recommends productive investment in capital, technology and human capital which in turn would help boost labour productivity. Trade unions play an important part in labour productivity through the mechanisms like collective bargaining and/or sector-based agreements, and specifically by facilitating innovation at the workplace which in turns enhances labour productivity. Employers can also contribute to the labour productivity and this is why the EESC recommends stronger collaboration between trade unions and businesses.
In this context, the EESC organises a public debate in the ECO Section with the title: ''Trade unions and employers: collaborating towards enhanced productivity''.
The event is organised on 5.6.2025 starting at 10:30 a.m. and will be webstreamed (original, EN, FR). No registration is needed and participation is free of charge.
