EU-Central America joint meeting of civil society Advisory Groups and Civil Society Dialogue Forum - June 2025
Joint events of the Domestic Advisory Groups of the EU and six Central American countries were hosted by Costa Rica in San José, on 24-26 June 2025. The DAGs took part in a Joint Workshop which focused on:
- Climate change and climate action in Central America,
- The Corporative Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, the EU Deforestation Regulation, and their impact on the SMEs and value chains in Central America.
During their Joint Meeting on 25 June 2025 in San José, Costa Rica, the EU and Central American Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs) addressed several key topics concerning the implementation and future of the EU-Central America Association Agreement. The agenda focused on:
- Enhancing civil society participation in trade and sustainable development governance.
- Reflecting on twelve years of the Agreement's implementation, examining its political, social, and economic impacts.
- Exploring the future application of the Agreement, with emphasis on its potential for advancing trade and sustainable development.
The EU DAG adopted a Final Declaration.
