Defence-related investments in the EU budget in the context of the new geopolitical order

There is a widespread perception that the new geopolitical order requires a massive increase in European defence spending over a prolonged period, and in this context strengthening the Union’s defence industry so that it can produce necessary equipment to deter potential aggressors. This requires a combined and sustained effort at the EU and Member States level to invest collectively in EU’s defence.

In this context, the EESC organises a public debate in the ECO Section with the title: "Defence-related investments in the EU budget in the context of the new geopolitical order".

The event is organised on Friday 4.7.2025 starting at 10:00 a.m. and will be webstreamed (original, EN, FR). No registration is needed and participation is free of charge.
