The Danish Labour Market and geopolitical challenges around the Baltic Sea

The Workers' Group is organising an extraordinary meeting in Copenhagen, on the occasion of the Danish Council Presidency, with a wide participation of prominent speakers from Danish trade unions, employer organizations and government representatives. On the first day, discussions will focus on the functioning and particularities of the Danish labour market, which is generally considered as a role model for combining high employment rates, decent salaries and quality jobs.

As geopolitics has become a dominant factor on the political agenda, especially in the Baltic area, which is primarily concerned by Russian expansionist endeavours, the Group will devote the second day to a debate on the impact of the new reality on maritime security in the region and on regional trade union cooperation under the new normal.
