On 30 June 2026, the Civil Society Organisations՚ Group will host a high-level conference in Cork. Registration for in-person participation is now closed. We invite you to follow via live streaming. Prior registration for the streaming is not required.

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) invites you to attend our public hearing on how using artificial intelligence and digitalisation in tax administration can strengthen legal clarity, cross-border comparability, economic development and tax certainty.

The public hearing will focus on the capacity to reduce fragmentation and compliance burdens, while facilitating compliance and collection across Member States. The hearing will bring together policymakers, stakeholders and experts from across countries and organisations to discuss on digitizing the EU tax system.

The Workers’ Group at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC Workers’ Group) expresses its grave concern regarding recent legislative developments in Slovenia, in particular the proposed intervention legislation and the announced changes to the system for the collection of trade union membership fees.

Statement of the Bureau of the External Relations Section of the European Economic and Social Committee on the situation in the Middle East

We are greatly concerned about the situation in the Middle East and the consequences of the ongoing conflict involving Iran and neighbouring countries; we call for de-escalation, renewed peace talks, and a firm commitment to multilateral principles. The ceasefire remains fragile after failed negotiations. Priority should be given to renewed negotiations and inclusive dialogue based on the UN Charter and a rules-based multilateral order.
