La UE necesita medidas eficaces y urgentes para reducir las emisiones y hacer frente al cambio climático. A tal fin, el paquete de medidas sobre financiación sostenible presentado por la Comisión Europea tiene el potencial de establecer un marco claro, coherente e integral en el que pueda desarrollarse una economía más ecológica sin efectos de bloqueo.
En el Dictamen aprobado en el pleno de septiembre, elaborado por Stefan Back, el CESE apoya plenamente las medidas de la Comisión dirigidas a establecer normas para la definición de «actividades económicamente sostenibles», pero señala que ciertos elementos podrían suponer un reto complejo y costoso, en particular para las pymes.
El Comité afirma que es importante definir claramente los criterios técnicos aplicables a las inversiones ecológicas que contribuyen directamente a los objetivos climáticos de Europa y sobre los que puedan adaptarse las prácticas de los sectores empresariales afectados y el sector financiero. Establecer normas que se apartan de los requisitos máximos de la legislación de la UE puede generar confusión y, por lo tanto, el CESE recomienda reforzar dichos requisitos.
«El paquete de medidas de la Comisión tiene por objeto permitir a los inversores reorientar las inversiones hacia tecnologías y empresas más sostenibles. Necesitamos herramientas eficaces, fácilmente aplicables, innovadoras y productivas que generen resultados rápidos y legibles. Esta idea debe guiar la evaluación del Reglamento Delegado relativo a la taxonomía de las finanzas sostenibles», subrayó el Sr. Back. (mp)
