The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

El lunes 25 de enero, el Comité Económico y Social Europeo celebró su primera charla de arte en el ciberespacio con la inauguración virtual de la exposición en línea Hand in Hand («De la mano»), de Maria Reis Rocha.
El encuentro, en el que el vicepresidente de Comunicación del CESE, Cillian Lohan, el miembro del CESE Gonçalo Lobo Xavier y la artista portuguesa debatieron en directo sobre las obras de arte expuestas, embarcó a los espectadores en un «viaje cultural», invitándonos a todos a reflexionar sobre los retos de la sociedad a través de unas ilustraciones de extraordinaria factura.
