Conference on "The social dimension in the National Recovery and Resilience Plans"

This high-level conference was an opportunity to look into the actual implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plans (NRRPs) and see whether investments and reforms manage to address social challenges.

Speakers included representatives from the European Commission, European Parliament, the European Network of Public Employment Services, EIGE (European Institute for Gender Equality), Eurofound (the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions), CEPS, KU Leuven, Youth representatives and social partners at EU (BusinessEurope, ETUC) and from national organisations.

The first Session, on 'Advancing the social objectives of the National Recovery and Resilience Plans through the European Semester' explored the connections between the NRRPs and the European Semester.

The second session, on 'The gender dimension in the National Recovery and Resilience Plans' focused on ensuring an adequate gender dimension in the NRRPs' implementation and monitoring.

The third session, on 'The youth dimension in the national recovery and resilience plans – a focus on employment measures' looked at the impact and relevance of the NRRPs for young people and youth organisations.

Finally, in the Keynote session on 'Promoting social cohesion through the national recovery and resilience plans' speakers concluded, looking towards the future and considering the role of social dialogue and participation of civil society organisations as the key tool for building partnerships to deal with existing and emerging challenges.
