Building Together the EU We Want

On 16 April, the Civil Society Organisations' Group (Group III) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will hold a conference entitled 'Building Together the EU We Want' at the EESC premises in Brussels.

The conference will bring together approximately 140 participants, including the Members of Group III and civil society organisations at the European and national levels. The discussions will centre around three topics:

  • The expectations of European citizens vis-Ă -vis the socio-economic and political challenges facing the EU;
  • The EU we want: a democratic and inclusive EU of social justice and protection;
  • The EU we want: a sustainable economy based on fair green and digital transitions and quality jobs.

The event will assemble speakers from a significant number of European civil society networks, who will contribute in a round table format. A keynote speech will be given by Janis Emmanouilidis, Deputy Chief Executive of the European Policy Centre (EPC) and Director of Studies.

The written conclusions and recommendations of the conference will feed into an EESC resolution with policy recommendations to the new European Parliament and European Commission, to be adopted in July.

The conference is open to the public. Registration is now closed.

For further information consult the draft programme. There will be simultaneous interpreting from and into a number of EU languages.
