In the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012, a coordination group will explore the Year's themes and make recommendations to policy makers.
The afternoon hearing aims at finding new ways of guaranteeing healthy ageing as the first condition for active ageing.
Scientific experts, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry and non-governmental organizations, together with members of the European Commission (DG EMPL, SANCO, EAC and RESEARCH), will find new approaches to active and healthy ageing and discuss them with the members of the EESC Coordination Group for the European Year 2012 and the guests. In this way, we will not only involve closely the organized civil society in this reflection, but will also come to a close partnership between employers, workers and civil society organisations allowing everyone to live a happy, healthy, active and dignified life.
Please consult the Group's website for more information about this and upcoming activities.
