Welcome to the EESC and welcome to my webpage!
Here I would like briefly to introduce you to the work I do as the Secretary-General of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
My chief role is to implement the decisions taken by the Plenary Assembly, the Bureau and the President, but I also have overall responsibility for the implementation of the Committee's budget, the administration, communication and the Committee's relations with other Institutions.
From day-to-day my schedule varies: one day might involve me meeting with consultative work directors or working on administrative matters, while the next I might be attending the Bureau or a Plenary Session and discussing consultative work with our Members. Though my tasks vary, my ultimate goal as Secretary-General is always the same: I am here to serve the 344 Members of the Committee so that they can best represent civil society organisations drawn from the Member States and thus also the people and interests related to them. Of course, to help me achieve my objective I have a great team of colleagues with whom I work closely.
You can find out more about me, my staff, what the EESC is working on at the moment and how it functions by taking a look around my webpage. I hope that you find your visit informative and enjoyable!
