White Paper on Transport: where do we stand?

Public Hearing - EESC, Room JDE62 - Rue Belliard 99., 1040 Brussels, Belgium

The European Economic and Social Committee has the honour to invite you to participate in this hearing and express your views about the mid-term review of the European Commission's 2011 White Paper on Transport. We are interested in knowing (a) which are the success stories of EU's transport policy, (b) which areas failed to achieve the desired results, and (c) as summum bonum which WP actions need to be prioritized from now on.

We also welcome your written position statements on the three questions as soon as possible. Since we still have three main speaking slots available, our intention is to select the most relevant contributions from those received for that purpose. All written positions will however be available on our website before the hearing.

Your views will support the EESC in drafting its opinion, which in turn will be taken into account by the European Parliament and by the Commission for their own reports and assessments.

A draft program will soon be published on this website. A registration form is already available here (deadline 3 March).

We very much hope to see you at this event and to receive your written positions about the White Paper on Transport. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question.

Simultaneous interpretation between English, French, Italian, Swedish and Polish will be provided.
