The Europe 2020 Strategy sets out a number of new goals in terms of employment, innovation, education, social inclusion, climate and energy. Yet when it comes to achieving the targets set out in the Europe 2020 Strategy, the starting points of men and women are quite different. On Friday 22 March 2013, the EESC will be presenting its own-initiative opinion on "The gender dimension in the Europe 2020 Strategy" and will be discussing its view on this fascinating subject. Your input will be most welcome.
How is the gender dimension taken into account when implementing the various strands of the Europe 2020 Strategy?
How can the Europe 2020 Strategy be linked more closely to the Strategy for Equality between men and women?
What specific adjustments should be made to ensure that the EU fully embraces the aim of gender equality in education, training, labour, careers, pay, work-life balance and decision-making?
This conference is aimed at other EESC sections, the EU institutions, trade unions and employers organisations and other organisations working in the area of gender equality, as well as the general public with a view to making proposals on how to integrate these two decisive strategies and make gender mainstreaming a reality.
When: Friday 22 March 2013, starting at 9.30 a.m.
