Public Hearing - Brussels, Belgium

The 2014 European Parliament elections will take place in a crucial period which, probably for the first time in history, provides scope for a truly European debate on the essential issues for the future of the European economy and society in times of economic crisis. In this context, the EESC Section for Economic and Monetary Union and Economic and Social Cohesion (ECO) is organising a public hearing in order to collect and present the arguments and proposals of European institutions and policy makers, civil society representatives, economists, legal experts, etc. on how to address the challenges which the Economic and Monetary Union and in particular the euro area are facing, with a particular focus on the next term of office of the European Parliament and the European Commission.
