The European Economic and Social Committee Information Centre

The EESC Information Centre provides librarian services in issues relevant to the EESC's activities.

Our multilingual collection (around 20.000 volumes) has a unique fund devoted to civil society. It is equally focused on agricultural policy ; free movement of persons and services ; transport policy ; harmonization of indirect taxation ; approximation of laws for the internal market ; employment policy ; social policy, education, vocational training and youth ; public health ; consumer protection ; trans-European networks ; industrial policy ; economic, social and territorial cohesion ; research and technological development and space ; international relations and environment.

Who can use the Information Centre?

  • Members of the Committee, their experts and assistants
  • Civil servants, temporary agents and trainees of the Committee and any other EU institution, body or agency
  • External visitors (contact: Library)

Our services and facilities

We aim to provide fast access to information and to answer your information requests as effectively as possible.

For this purpose we have placed at your disposal:

  • assistance in your information search by qualified staff
  • a reference collection, pcs and wi-fi connection
  • services as loans, photocopies, etc.
  • remote access via the intranet

The reading room is open from Tuesday to Thursday: 12.00 to 17.00.

We remain at your disposal for loan and search requests. Feel free to visit us in our office JDE 1048

External visitors

The Information Centre is also open to specialists and researchers (professionals, staff from organizations of the civil society, local offices, civil servants from EU member countries, university students, etc.). The loan to this category of users is not allowed. Before visiting us, external visitors must first contact the Information Centre. (Library)
