Making rural areas the engines of a sustainable Europe

Making rural areas the engines of a sustainable Europe

The EESC's Section for Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment (NAT) and the European Rural Parliament (ERP) organise a joint, web-streamed event on "Making rural areas the engines of a sustainable Europe" on 14 March 2019 on EESC premises from 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The European Economic and Social Committee and the European Rural Parliament are both concerned about the future of rural areas, which policymakers and politicians generally tend to neglect. Both consider it is not only needed to enliven rural areas so that people want to live and work in them. But the great, largely unused potential of rural areas also opens promising perspectives when it comes to implement the sustainable Europe we want.
