The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organises an annual meeting of the EU-Africa Economic and Social Stakeholders' Network.
The sixth meeting of the EU-Africa Economic and Social Stakeholders' Network took place in Brussels, Belgium, on 3 and 4 July 2019. A political declaration was adopted by the network to be addressed to the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the African Union.
This event was intended primarily to:
- enable non-state actors to understand and exchange on institutional investments mechanisms;
- examine the EESC consultative work on investment and trade;
- study the impact investing in the private sector;
- study the impact investing in the social and environmental sectors.
Participants included representatives of networks and organisations of employers, workers and various interests (particularly farmers, consumers and cooperatives) from both continents.
