Slovakia

Pursuant to Government Resolution no 95 of March 2, 2016, the bodies responsible are the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Informatisation for national implementation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs for implementation in an international environment.

Roadmap for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda was adopted in July 2017 (defined the basic institutional, implementation and monitoring framework for implementing the Agenda 2030 in Slovakia)

National priorities for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda were adopted in June 2018 (defined six national priorities for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in a broad stakeholder participation process). They suggested a set of key areas for the development of Slovakia by 2030, identifying major challenges and priorities for the country in the context of the SDGs.

Vision and National Development Strategy of Slovakia until 2030, due to be prepared by April 2019, will be based on the six national priorities (major development strategy aiming to define development priorities, goals and necessary action until 2030, in line with the Agenda 2030).

The six national priorities will gain genuine significance only once they will be prioritised in terms of budgetary allocations. At the moment, the Agenda 2030 and the national priorities are not integrated into the sectoral strategies of ministries and thus are not included in sectoral investment plans either. Therefore, as an essential part of the National Development Strategy, a National Investment Plan will be elaborated, which will be directly linked to the six priority areas for the implementation of the Agenda 2030. The National Investment Plan is based on the model of the British National Infrastructure Delivery Plan. It is a project‐level document, which outlines strategic investments in order to strengthen stability and continuity across electoral cycles. A pilot version of the National Investment Plan was adopted in September 2018 but it will be updated after the adoption of the Vision and National Development Strategy until 2030.

The Slovak Government has adopted Baselines for the national implementation for the 2030 Agenda for SD and SDGs in March 2016. According to the document the Slovak Government agreed with divided responsibility for the implementation for the 2030 Agenda between the Government Office (national implementation) and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (activities of Slovakia and Slovak entities abroad). The first overall assessment of achievement of objectives should be done by the end of 2019. The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs should prepare and realise the Concept of the implementation for the 2030 Agenda in the international environment.
