EESC President Georges Dassis in Athens with EC Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker

The President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) Georges Dassis will be visiting Athens with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on 21 June. Together they will:

  • participate in the plenary session of the Greek Economic and Social Committee, where they will speak about the major challenges that Europe in general, and Greece in particular, are facing today with specific emphasis on the reforms in Greece and on the promotion of the social state and social dialogue;

  • attend the annual conference of SEV-Hellenic Federation of Enterprises at the Megaro Mousikis, where Jean-Claude Juncker will give a key-note speech alongside Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and the Greek President Procopis Pavlopoulos.

This joint visit takes place as the European Commission and the EESC are undertaking a major joint project involving a series of fact-finding missions by the EESC to explore the social rights situation in the EU Members States.
