Tom DE GRUNWALD, Co-Founder, SwapMyVote

Tom de Grunwald co-founded Swap my Vote in 2015, as a positive platform to help people to make their vote meaningful in UK general elections under the country's iniquitous 'First Past the Post' electoral system.

He is a director of Open Rights Group and a member of Democracy Club and Newspeak House, the London College of Political Technologists.

When not working on democratic platforms and civic tech, Tom works as a producer and strategist in broadcast, managing creative teams at award-winning agencies, producing and/or devising social and digital strategy for projects (including Downton Abbey, Magnum Photos, and Unreported World); producing series of Shorts for Channel 4 (including with Scope to help shift attitudes towards disability); and consulting with clients (including BBC Academy and Viacom), and as a guest lecturer (at Zurich University of the Arts), to deliver training on digital engagement strategy and skills.

He opposes the UK's withdrawal from the EU and is working to help the country tread a more productive and harmonious path.

Since 2015, a participatory budget has been deploying on a dozen of French territories, from cities of modest size to metropolises.
