  • The 13th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform took place on 3 July 2023. During the meeting, a debate focused on assessing the implementation of the seven steps outlined by the European Commission and the state of play of the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, as well as on enhancing the role of civil society in Ukraine's way to the EU. The Platform also discussed the challenges and possibilities for Ukraine today and in the post-war reconstruction, with special focus on green recovery, energy, environment and employment. A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.

  • This public hearing will gather the view of international institutions, environmental law experts and the European and Ukrainian civil society stakeholders on the EU's approach to protecting and enhancing a healthy environment for all.

  • Representatives of the European and Ukrainian Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs), set up under the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine, held their sixth joint meeting on 26 January 2023. The objective of the meeting was to prepare a set of recommendations for the EU-Ukraine Trade and Sustainable Development Sub-Committee and the Civil Society Forum, which will take place in March 2023.

  • The 206th meeting of the Section for External Relations of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) took place on 31 January 2023. During the meeting, which comes nearly one year after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a debate was held on the resilience of Ukrainian civil society and on the EU support to the country.

  • The 12th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform took place on 1 December 2022. During the meeting, a debate was held on the enhancement of Ukraine's integration into the EU, as well as the needs and challenges for Ukraine today and in the post-war reconstruction, with special focus on energy, social aspects and critical infrastructure. A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.

  • The role of civil society

    This thematic debate aims to discuss the impacts of the war on food security worldwide, with a focus on some specific world regions; further actions that will be needed to ensure food security while fostering resilient and sustainable food systems and the role civil society can play in ensuring food security both in Europe and beyond.

  • The 11th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform took place on 20 April 2022. During the meeting, an exchange between authorities and members of the civil society platform was held with special focus on the unprovoked and unilateral armed aggression initiated by the Russian Federation against Ukraine on its independent and sovereign territory. A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.
