At its December plenary, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) discussed the issues affecting young people in the labour market in the context of the 2022 European Year of Youth and the 2023 European Year of Skills. The Committee advocates for a long-term strategy for youth engagement and recommends that the concept of European Years go beyond mere promotional activities and contribute towards clear plans. The needs of refugees and our Ukrainian neighbours must also be a priority of the European Year of Skills.

A associação sem fins lucrativos portuguesa Movimento Transformers figura na lista de finalistas do Prémio CESE para a Sociedade Civil de 2022 que, este ano, é atribuído a duas categorias, a saber, capacitar os jovens e ajudar as vítimas da guerra na Ucrânia. A Movimento Transformers concorre para o prémio orientado para a juventude, a par de outros dois projetos de Itália e Espanha. Os três finalistas para o prémio orientado para a Ucrânia são da Polónia, Roménia e Espanha.

European organised civil society and citizens have shown unprecedented solidarity with Ukrainian refugees, throwing open their homes, helping these refugees enter the labour market and quickly integrating Ukrainian children into European schools. The EU should now learn from this success story to help all refugees and migrants, the 2022 Forum said.

Os alunos do ensino secundário de toda a Europa transmitiram oito propostas concretas à vice-presidente dos Valores e Transparência da Comissão Europeia, Věra Jourová, por ocasião do evento virtual dos jovens «A tua Europa, a tua voz» (YEYS2022) subordinado ao tema «A verdade da mentira – Os jovens contra a desinformação». O evento foi organizado pelo Comité Económico e Social Europeu (CESE) em 31 de março e 1 de abril de 2022.
