EESC Consultative Commission on Industrial Change: 15th anniversary conference

The European Economic and Social Committee's Consultative Commission on Industrial Change will hold its 15th anniversary conference on From Industrial Change to Society 4.0 on 16 November 2017 in Brussels at the EESC's premises (Room JDE62).

Industrial change and societal change are forged together. This is why, after 15 years as the direct successor of the European Coal and Steel Community Consultative Committee, the EESC's Consultative Commission on Industrial Change (CCMI) proposes not only to take a stock of past achievements, but also to review the way ahead as European industry and society together embark on the digital revolution. From Industrial Change to Society 4.0 will quite naturally look at our achievements, the lessons to be learned, values to be re-forged, challenges to address for the future of Europe, but most importantly it will deal with the following two major topics:

  1. The challenges of energy transition and Industry 4.0 - Towards a new European Industrial Pillar?
  2. From Industry 4.0 to Society 4.0 – people, societal challenges and the new industrial age

Main speakers will include Count Etienne Davignon, EESC President Georges Dassis, CCMI President Lucie Studničná and key institutional representatives and civil society stakeholders.
