Advice and support for businesses

Timo VUORI
Chambers of commerce

With the arrival of the coronavirus in Finland and the various restrictions imposed by the government, there was a huge need for businesses to know how to act, what to do and where to get help. The Finnish Chamber of Commerce and the 19 regional chambers of commerce organised telephone helplines and webinars for businesses and provided up-to-date information via websites. A business survey was carried out every two weeks, which received over 4000 responses. This information on the financial difficulties and challenges faced by businesses was made available to the Finnish government when it was assessing possible national support measures. In addition, information on the situation in different countries and the impact on exports, imports and the movement of people was exchanged among the chambers of commerce of other EU countries via a process of international cooperation. SMEs in particular have been satisfied with the swift response, practical assistance and support provided by the chambers of commerce. For more information: www.chamber.fi /
