L-impenn tal-KESE b’rabta mal-organizzazzjonijiet tas-soċjetà ċivili fir-Russja huwa rregolat mill-ħames prinċipji gwida għar-relazzjonijiet bejn l-UE u r-Russja miftiehma mill-Ministri għall-Affarijiet Barranin tal-UE u r-Rappreżentant Għoli tal-UE għall-Affarijiet Barranin u l-Politika ta’ Sigurtà. Wieħed minn dawn il-prinċipji gwida huwa l-“appoġġ għall-kuntatti bejn in-nies”.

Id-djalogu u l-iskambju ta’ esperjenzi bejn ir-rappreżentanti tas-soċjetà ċivili mill-UE u r-Russja jikkontribwixxu b’mod sinifikanti għat-tkomplija tal-implimentazzjoni tas-Sħubija Strateġika bejn l-UE u r-Russja. Il-KESE adotta approċċ f’żewġ livelli għar-relazzjonijiet tiegħu mas-soċjetà ċivili Russa, bil-għan li jinvolvi ruħu mal-iżjed firxa wiesgħa possibbli ta’ rappreżentanti tas-soċjetà ċivili. Minn naħa, iżomm relazzjonijiet mal-Kamra Ċivika tal-Federazzjoni Russa, il-kontraparti uffiċjali tiegħu fir-Russja, u jorganizza, fost affarijiet oħrajn, seminars konġunti annwali dwar suġġetti ta’ interess għas-soċjetà ċivili fiż-żewġ naħat. L-imsieħeb l-ieħor tal-KESE huwa l-Forum tas-Soċjetà Ċivili UE-Russja, li jlaqqa’ flimkien sett differenti ta’ organizzazzjonijiet tas-soċjetà ċivili.

Il-Kumitat ta’ Segwitu UE-Russja huwa korp intern tal-KESE li jaġixxi bħala grupp ta’ tmexxija u huwa responsabbli għall-iżvilupp u ż-żamma ta’ relazzjonijiet u l-organizzazzjoni ta’ laqgħat u seminars konġunti mas-soċjetà ċivili fir-Russja.

On 17-18 March 2016, students from schools in all 28 EU Member States and, for the first time, from the 5 EU candidate countries (Albania, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey) met at the EESC in Brussels for Your Europe, Your Say!. They came to debate an issue that has been one of the most important topics on the European political agenda for some time: migration and integration. The key question for this year’s event was “How can we better integrate migrants and refugees in our societies?”.
