Ir-Renju Unit

Fl-24 ta' Diċembru 2020, l-UE u r-Renju Unit ikkonkludew b'suċċess Ftehim dwar il-Kummerċ u l-Kooperazzjoni (FKK) wara negozjati twal u kumplessi. Fl-1 ta' Jannar 2021 dan il-ftehim beda japplika fuq bażi proviżorja sakemm il-Kunsill u l-PE iffinalizzaw u rratifikaw il-proċess. L-istess bħal ftehimiet ta' kummerċ ħieles reċenti oħra, il-ftehim jinkludi dispożizzjonijiet speċifiċi dwar djalogu mas-soċjetà ċivili. Il-KESE, attur ewlieni ta' dan id-djalogu mas-soċjetà ċivili, għalhekk iddeċieda dwar l-istruttura istituzzjonali biex titrawwem ir-relazzjoni mar-Renju Unit u s-soċjetà ċivili tiegħu (in-negozji, it-trade unions u organizzazzjonijiet oħra), kif ukoll dwar korp għall-monitoraġġ tal-FKK.

Din l-istruttura l-ġdida, li ġiet aġġustata fid-dawl tal-ftehim konkluż, ir-relazzjoni ġdida bejn l-UE u r-Renju Unit kif ukoll l-iżviluppi istituzzjonali reċenti, tinkludi:

  • il-Kumitat ta’ Segwitu UE-Renju Unit, is-suċċessur politiku tal-Grupp ta’ Segwitu tal-Brexit, li huwa kumitat tal-KESE li fi ħdanu nistgħu nistabbilixxu l-aġenda u l-prijoritajiet tagħna stess bil-għan li nissodisfaw il-ħtiġijiet ta' din ir-realtà ġdida;
  • il-Grupp Konsultattiv Domestiku tal-UE b'rabta mal-FKK bejn l-UE u r-Renju Unit, il-pilastru istituzzjonali tas-soċjetà ċivili tar-relazzjoni kummerċjali bejn l-UE u r-Renju Unit.

Issa li r-relazzjonijiet futuri bejn iż-żewġ imsieħba ġew irregolati permezz ta' ftehim ta' sħubija tant importanti u komprensiv, il-KESE huwa lest jaqdi r-rwol tiegħu biex jottimizza l-potenzjal ta' dan il-ftehim, b'mod partikolari fir-rigward tas-soċjetà ċivili tar-Renju Unit. Il-KESE huwa determinat li jżomm kuntatti mill-qrib mas-soċjetà ċivili tar-Renju Unit wara l-Brexit, iħeġġeġ id-djalogu u l-iskambju u jinkludi l-organizzazzjonijiet tas-soċjetà ċivili fil-proċess tat-teħid ta' deċiżjonijiet soċjali. B'hekk se jiżgura li jiġu protetti r-rabtiet ekonomiċi, soċjali u politiċi b'saħħithom li ġew żviluppati tul is-sħubija ta' nofs seklu tar-Renju Unit fl-UE.
