L-istrumentalizzazzjoni tal-migranti sostnuta mill-Istat, li għandha l-għan li tiddestabbilizza lill-UE, u l-gwerra attwali fl-Ukrajna, li wasslet għal influss bla preċedent ta’ refuġjati, jagħmluha neċessarja li tiġi riveduta l-politika Ewropea dwar il-migrazzjoni. Il-Kumitat Ekonomiku u Soċjali Ewropew (KESE) jinsisti li s-solidarjetà u l-kondiviżjoni tal-piżijiet fost l-Istati Membri huma meħtieġa sabiex ikun hemm rispons komuni għall-kriżijiet tar-refuġjati. Fl-istess ħin, il-KESE jenfasizza l-ħtieġa li jiġu ggarantiti s-sikurezza u d-drittijiet tal-bniedem tal-migranti.
