The EESC is preparing opinions in the context of the EU Circular Economy Action Plan

Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference
Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference

Business representatives, workers’ and consumers’ associations, NGOs, local and regional authorities and other stakeholders gathered in Brussels for the Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference on 20-21 February. Co-organised by the European Commission and the EESC, the conference was an opportunity to discuss recent policy developments within the EU Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) and to share know-how, good practices and concrete actions from the ground. Through a series of participatory conversations, stakeholders exchanged ideas on issues ranging from extended producer responsibility to circularity in the agri-forestry sector,  from green financing to reparability of products. The sharing of knowledge and practices continues on the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform.

The EESC is also preparing opinions on the new package of policies implementing the CEAP, namely on the EU strategy on plastics in a circular economy (including action on marine litter), the monitoring framework for the circular economy and the interface between chemicals, products and waste legislation.
